Volunteers at Nockamixon Cemetery

Volunteers are needed to help clear the grounds at Nockamixon Cemetery on Church Hill Road on Saturday, April 27th and Saturday, May 4th from 9 am - 12 pm. (If it rains on either of those days, there will be a rain date on Saturday, May 11th.) Please contact Linda at 267-884-6021 if you are interested in volunteering for this event (leave a message if she is unable to answer).

Volunteers for Rummage Sale

Volunteers are needed to assist with the clean up of St. Luke's Rummage Sale on Saturday, May 4th at 2 pm at the corner of Rts. 412 and 611 (old car dealership). If you are interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org.

Volunteers for Art Gallery

Volunteers are needed to monitor the Art Gallery in the high school lobby on the following Wednesdays from 4-6:30 pm. Those who are able to help will need to make sure that nothing is stolen or damaged, but students are more than welcome to work on homework, read a book, etc. while there.

Volunteers for Tinicum Arts Festival

Volunteers are needed to help at the 70th Annual Tinicum Arts Festival on Saturday and Sunday, July 6th and 7th. Volunteers for 5K

Volunteers are needed at the Palisades Community Foundation's Annual 5K at Palisades High School on Saturday, May 18th. Any interested student should notify Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org.

E-Waste Recycling Event

The Springfield Environmental Advisory Commission is interested in volunteers to help with their e-waste recycling event on Saturday, June 8th at Springfield Elementary School.  

Volunteers are expected to provide their own transportation to and from this event.  Students are also reminded to bring their time cards and parental waivers to be signed at the completion of their hours.

Springfield Roadside Cleanup

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Springfield Township Environmental Advisory Commission's Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 6th at 9am.  All volunteers will be meeting at Springfield Elementary before clearing the roads. Please dress appropriately.

Downtown Bethlehem Cleanup

The Downtown Bethlehem Association is seeking volunteers for the annual Historic District Cleanup on Saturday, April 20, 2019, from 8:00 am – 11:00 amThe purpose of this event is to encourage community involvement in keeping our city’s Historic District beautiful, clean and inviting for everyone! Volunteers are needed to help pick up litter, clean out planters, and plant new flowers for spring. We will be meeting at the Sun Inn Courtyard at 556 Main Street at 8 am for refreshments and to hand out clean-up supplies provided by the DBA and its sponsors. From there, groups will be assigned to different areas of the Historic District to help pick litter and clean out planters.

VOLUNTEERS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. Gloves, trash bags and safety equipment will be provided.

Upcoming UBE Fire Company Breakfasts

Upper Black Eddy Fire Company is holding its last monthly breakfasts on Sunday, April 14th and Sunday, May 12th.  Both of these events run from 7am to 2pm, but volunteers are not expected to stay for the entire time; any help is appreciated.  Volunteers should arrive in a timely manner on the day of the event and ask for Chuck Andersen, who will be organizing volunteers.

Volunteers for UBE Fire Company Breakfast

Volunteers are needed to assist the Upper Black Eddy Fire Company to prepare for an upcoming breakfast on Friday, March 8th from 6pm-8pm.  All volunteers will be prepping food at this time.

Volunteers are ALSO needed on Sunday, March 10th from 7am-2pm (you do not need to stay the entire time) to help serve breakfast and clean up. Please make sure to arrive in a timely fashion if you are volunteering, and ask for Chuck Andersen, who will be organizing volunteers.

Volunteers for Needed at Durham-Nockamixon Elementary

Volunteers are needed to monitor small children (play games/activities, read books, etc.) during parent meetings at Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School on the first Monday of every month at 6:30 pm. Volunteers for Read Across America Celebration

Volunteers are needed to read to elementary students for Tinicum's Read Across America Celebration on Friday, March 1st from 2:45-3:30.  Volunteers will need to provide their own transportation immediately after school!  If you are interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115 or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org.

Four volunteers are needed to assist with the Harlem Wizards' visit to Palisades High School on Monday, February 25th at 5 pm.  If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email Donna Holmes at dholmes@palisadessd.org.

Volunteers for Fiddler on the Roof!

Volunteers are needed to help as ushers (collect tickets) for the productions of Fiddler on the Roof on Friday, March 1st at 6 pm, Saturday, March 2nd at 6 pm, and Sunday, March 3rd at 12:30 pm. UBE Fire Co. Breakfast

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Upper Black Eddy Fire Company's Breakfast on Sunday, February, 10th from 7:00 am - 2 pm.  Volunteers are not expected to stay for the entire length of time, but it would be appreciated. There is no need to sign up for this event ahead of time, but please ask for Paul when you arrive.

Snack Stand Volunteers on 1/18

Volunteers are needed to help with the Snack Stand at the Basketball Game on Friday, January 18th from 5:30 to 7:30 at Palisades High School.  If you are interested in this event, please contact Mr. Gilbert in the Athletic Office, or email him at bgilbert@palisadessd.org.

More Handwriting Tutors Needed at Durham-Nox!


Volunteers are needed to tutor elementary students at Durham-Nockamixon every Thursday afternoon from 2:30-3:15.  If you are involved in other extracurriculars, please be mindful that these elementary students will be depending on your attendance every Thursday.  If you are interested, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org.

Durham-Nockamixon Clubhouses

Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help with their Clubhouses (listed below).  Volunteers are needed to assist teachers and students every Wednesday from January 30th to February 27th from 3:45 - 5:00 pm.  If you are interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115 or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org, and inform her of the club with which you would like to volunteer. (This is a great event to attend with a friend!)

Holiday Volunteering at the Aldie Mansion

Volunteers Needed for American Bulldog Fundraiser
Volunteers are needed to assist a fundraiser for the American Bulldog Rescue on Sunday, November 4th at the Bridgeton AA in Upper Black Eddy.  Two volunteers are needed to sell tickets at the door, starting at 11:45 am for about 2 hours.  Three to four volunteers are needed to help organize event, starting at 1:45 pm for about 2 hours. Volunteers Needed for Riegelsville Car Show

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Riegelsville Annual Fall Roll Out on Sunday, November 4th. If you are interested in assisting with this event, please contact Sherry at 610-349-6086 for specific hours and information.

UBE Fire Co. Turkey Dinner

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Upper Black Eddy Fire Company's Turkey Dinner.  Help is needed to prepare for the dinner on Friday, October 19th at 6pm, and volunteers are also needed on Saturday, October 20th at from 3pm-7pmwith serving dinner.  Any time you can offer is greatly appreciated.  If you are interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org.

Childcare at Durham-Nockamixon Elementary School

Volunteers are needed to assist parents and teachers at Durham-Nox Elementary School by providing childcare during school-sponsored events.  
Volunteers are needed on the following dates:

 

  • October 10th from 4-5 pm
  • January 16th from 4-5 pm
  • March 6th from 4-5 pm

Volunteers are also needed the
first Monday of every month, starting at 6:30.

Volunteers Needed for Halloween Parade
Volunteers are needed to assist with the Riegelsville Halloween Parade on Saturday, October 27th from 10 am - 12 pm. Volunteers will be asked to register kids for the costume contest and monitor kids during the parade.  Volunteers are encouraged to wear their costumes. Volunteers Needed for Rx Takeback

Volunteers are needed to assist with a Community Rx Takeback on Saturday, October 27th, 2018.  This event is being held in two locations, Wehrungs (on 611) and Springfield Elementary School, from 10 am - 2 pm.  Volunteers are asked to assist with collecting old medications and administering exit surveys.  If anyone is interested in this event, please see Mrs. Piper in Room 115, or email her at npiper@palisadessd.org to sign up for a specific time and location.

Bring your friends, family, and colleagues to the Navy Yard on June 3rd to celebrate the rich diversity of our region and stand up against bigotry.

Volunteers are needed to walk alongside our Stand Up to Silence Committee at the Annual Walk Against Hate on Sunday, June 3rd. If you are interested in this event, please email Ms. Tolson to register.

You're invited to an afternoon of crafting and kindness in support of the Infinite Reasons to Live #PeytonHeartProject. Come crochet, knit or sew hearts (small, fun and easy to make - just bring your needle or sewing machine) or come and help tag hearts. All for a great cause.

We will be making and tagging craft hearts with inspirational messages to place in the community to continue spreading the mission of: awareness, hope, and kindness.

The Peyton Heart Project's mission is to help raise global awareness about suicide and bullying and to help end the stigma surrounding mental health. The project is named after Peyton James, a 13-year-old boy who, in the fall of 2014, died by suicide after years of being bullied.

Roadside Cleanup

Volunteers are needed to assist with the Cooks Creek Watershed Association's Roadside Cleanup on Saturday, April 7th from 9am - 12pm. All volunteers will be meeting with the Environmental Advisory Committee members at the Springtown Firehouse promptly at 9am. Homemade chili will be served at the conclusion of the cleanup. If you are interested in assisting with this event, please email Mrs. Piper at npiper@palisadessd.org to have your name added to the list .
