AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION CPR AND AED COURSE:

Thursday, 10/10

6:30-8:30PM

Cost:  $45

Location:  PHS Cyber Center

Instructor:  Heather Page, MS, BSN, RN

 

The American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR AED Course trains participants to provide high-quality CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely and effective manner. The course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing to the class. Our class is available for anyone 14 years of age or older. Class size is limited.

 

CERAMICS AND POTTERY:

The cost includes instruction and use of classroom space and wheels. We will provide two types of clay, glaze and underglaze. All tools and equipment will be available for use including hand tools, extruder and slab roller. Aprons will be provided and all of your work will be loaded and unloaded into kilns and fired for you!

You are guaranteed at least four complete works of art! These projects may include (but not limited to) learning skills such as the wheel, sgraffito, coil building, texturing techniques, slump molds and slab building. You can follow along guided projects or use the time to work independently. Lauren Sunday, the Palisades 3-Dimensional Design teacher, will be there for assistance.

COMING SOON…Decorative Platter Workshop - 2 evenings in November will be all that you need to make a lovely, one of a kind piece, just in time for holiday entertaining or gift giving!  More information to come!

 

CONSTITUTION ALIVE:

All are welcome to join our “Constitution Alive” class.  You will be inspired by how this course brings history and government to life in a dynamic and engaging way.   You may be surprised at what you don't know.  We will take a look at the original intent of our Constitution through the written documents of Founding Fathers and what it truly means to be a good citizen and to save freedom for future generations. Best suited for middle school age and older.

DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING:

Train your best friend to heel, sit, stay and come when called. This is a results-oriented class! You will be amazed at how much progress is made in six short weeks! Dogs must have a collar and a six-foot leash. The course fosters confidence in the dog and owner, while teaching the dogs to be compatible with other dogs. Enjoy this experience with your number one furry pal!

 

DRIVER TRAINING PROGRAM:

Cost:  $230/resident student; $275/non-resident student

Recommended for all new drivers, this six hour on the road training program is designed for students age 16 or older having a valid driving permit or license. Once the form is received, the student will be contacted by the instructor to schedule training.  Download Driver Training Reservation Form and mail with payment.

 

HYPNOSIS CLASSES:

Stop Smoking with Hypnosis:

Through hypnosis, smoking cessation is easily achieved in a one-hour session.  Eliminate the craving for tobacco while minimizing discomfort. MEDITATION FOR EVERYONE:

There is a form of meditation for everyone!  Each week, we will learn a new technique to explore what might work for you!

Guided meditation, music (listening and singing(, art, breathing styles, movement, hand mudras and gratitude practice, and candle gazing.

Health Qi Gong (pronounced chee gong) combines stretches, flowing movements, and breath to clear tension from the muscles, reduce stress, calm the mind.  The gentle, rhythmic movements of Qi Gong teach you to move with relaxation. Qi Gong helps to create physical and emotional balance in the body. It is both energizing and relaxing. Practiced as a form of exercise it improves vitality, helps to boost the immune system, prevent illness, and improves balance.

You've heard the national statistics. Now hear what is happening in the Palisades real estate market. Sales, days on market, sale to list price ratios and more. We will discuss how to position your home for the maximum profit and how the recent NAR settlement affects you and your options.  Forms that will be used during the sale process will be shared and discussed such as the Standard Agreement of Sale, Sellers Property Disclosure, ALTA and the difference between a mortgage Pre-Qualification and a Pre-Approval.

Have you thought about "house flipping" or owning rental properties but you're not sure where to start? Reality real estate shows have your sledgehammer looking for a project? We will discuss the pros and cons of real estate investing from a practical standpoint.  Class will cover property evaluation, creating your investment team, financing, tax implications, 1031 exchanges, how to screen tenants and more!
