We are using the School Messenger Emergency Notification System to provide families and staff with important information. This system is used to inform you of snow closings, early dismissals, school delays, emergencies and other important information about our schools. Please note the following:
- EMERGENCY phone calls will be made to all numbers provided. An emergency includes early dismissal or other event that would result in students being dismissed unexpectedly. We will make 4 attempts for each number provided.
- School cancellations (made in the morning) will be placed to the primary number, which is typically the home phone number only -- unless it has been replaced by a cell number. Again, we will make 4 attempts to contact this primary number. Calls answered by an answering machine or voicemail system are considered completed calls. Palisades School District will appear on your caller ID.
- ATTENDANCE calls from our schools will go to the custodial parents/guardians for the student.
- Other "COURTESY" calls will be placed as non-emergency calls to the primary number provided and Palisades School District will appear in the caller ID.
It is imperative that the PowerSchool database (the district’s student information system) be up to date with current contact information and we strongly encourage parents/guardians to complete the Returning Student Forms so that all contact and medical information is accurate for the school year.
Moving forward, if an email is being sent to provide information for an emergency incident, a text message, reading “please check your email” will be sent to those who have signed up to receive text messages. To ensure that you are signed up, either check the “SMS” flag in your PowerSchool account or contact your building secretary.
Please e-mail [email protected] if you have any questions related to this system. You may make changes to your child's record by notifying their school office in writing.
