Dear Palisades Families,

As we begin this new school year, I am excited to open our buildings as close to pre-pandemic normalcy as possible with a cautious eye to the future.  Once again this year, we will follow our School Board approved Health and Safety Plan, as well as the direction provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Bucks County Department of Health.  We will continue to monitor the developments in our schools, community, and regionally throughout the school year.

Throughout the 20-21 year, we continued to educate our students with both face-to-face and online courses and remained open throughout the entire school year.  Additionally, we had the benefit of celebrating the many exciting accomplishments of our students together as a community including these notable achievements:

  1. Students from the PHS FBLA team qualified for state competition last spring; Camilla O’Donnell (Class of 2022) placed 1st in Electronic Career Portfolio.

  2. The Palisades Cross Country team finished 3rd in District level competition with Thomas Smigo (Class of 2023) taking first place. Smigo also took third place overall among Class A boys in the State Championships.

  3. The Palisades Girls Soccer team took 2nd place in District XI Finals.

  4. The Palisades Football Team won the District XI-2A Championship; Mason Smeland (Class of 2021) achieved 1000 yards rushing.

  5. In Girls Varsity Basketball, Trinity Williams (Class of 2021) was named Colonial League MVP and scored her 1000th point this season.

  6. Palisades Varsity Wrestling Team was last year’s Colonial League Champion; Ben Haubert (Class of 2021) won 1st place in regional competition.

  7. Palisades Boys Baseball won the District XI Championship for the first time in school history.

  8. PHS was Named a Top High School in the Nation by US News and World Report.

  9. The Positive School Wide Behavior Program continued with fidelity throughout the pandemic in all elementary schools and at PALMS, as well as recognition for Durham Nox, PALMS and PHS as No Place for Hate school communities by the Anti-Defamation League.

  10. The District Received Accolades for the second year in a row as one of the Best Communities for Music Education in the State.

  11. The District’s Reading Olympics Teams Received Ribbons for their Top Level Performances in last year’s competition.

  12. Thirty three high school students were named Advanced Placement Scholars, scoring an average of 3.96 on their AP exams.

This year’s theme, “Let’s See What We Can Do in 21-22” is a challenge to continue to meet the needs of our students and enjoy the successes we look forward to achieving, while maintaining the health and safety of our community.

Without the support of our students, staff, administrators, school board members, and the community at large, we would have not experienced the various successes of the last school year.  Now “Let’s See What We Can Do in 21-22!”
