Dear Palisades,

Having served my 12th year as Superintendent of the Palisades School District, I am so proud of the work that we continue to do to provide opportunities for the students and families in the community.  As a team, our teachers, staff, administrators, and school board members work collaboratively to support our students' goals and aspirations.  We have remained committed to our students and their families while maintaining fiscal responsibility for our taxpayers.

The district’s vision guides daily decision-making and goal-setting so that we can help our students achieve their best.  I am proud of the leadership of our team members and their steadfast pursuit of excellence for our students.  It is heartwarming to see our team working every day to keep Palisades at the forefront of the education community of Bucks County and beyond.

All the best to you in the 2024-25 school year!  As a closing, I wanted to share some of the highlights of success we achieved in Palisades during the last school year.  Here are several accomplishments we have celebrated:
* Palisades was recognized as a Great PA School through the PA School Boards Association (PSBA)
* Once again, Palisades was recognized as an Outstanding Visual Arts Community
* Palisades High School was ranked as a top high school in PA and the nation by US News and World Report
* Two teachers (Tiffany Hamilton, Tinicum, and Rory McMullen, Palisades Middle School)  were recognized with the Heart of Learning Award 
* Our District was featured in Data Insights Magazine (Winter/Spring 2024) in the article titled, Data drives behavioral/emotional health interventions
* Palisades was featured in a press conference in Harrisburg to advocate for charter school funding reform
* We participated in a successful inaugural season for the PIAA Girls’ Wrestling Program
* Cybersonics Team 103 (award-winning robotics team) participated in World Championships for F.I.R.S.T. - For Inspiration and Recognition of Science Technology
* Celebrated 150th Anniversary of the Knecht Bridge in conjunction with the Palisades Community Foundation, Springfield Township, and the Covered Bridge Society
* Recognized as a Youth Heart Watch district-all schools are now certified as providers of life-saving care in the event of an emergency
* Received Pinnacle Award presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bucks County
* Successfully implemented Pre K Counts Program at Durham Nockamixon Elementary
* Facilitated Board retreats with PSBA to promote Board member governance and advocacy
* Facilitated building assessments with Cardinal Point Security
* Completed and submitted our K-12 Guidance (339) Plan to PA Department of Education
* Completed review of data security and participated in tabletop scenarios with other Bucks County Schools
* National History Day first-place prize winners for the PA National History Award (covered bridge project) and PA National History Day state qualifiers (Sesame Street project)

I look forward to continuing our work during the upcoming school year, remaining student-focused and committed to being responsible stewards of our taxpayer dollars.
