Substitute School Nurses

Palisades School District is in need of substitute school nurses to cover school buildings and for field trips.  Building coverage responsibilities involve overseeing the building’s health office, dispensing medications, caring for emerging illnesses or injuries, implementing health care plans, etc.  Field trip responsibilities typically include coordinating with the building nurse regarding medication needs for the trip, and implementation of health care plans, if appropriate. Substitute nurses are paid $20 per hour.

Flexible schedule.  Requirements: RN license with medication dispensing certification, CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.  Interested candidates should submit their letter of interest, resume, copy of nursing license and certifications, and required clearances (Act 24, 34, 114, and 151 current within a year) and disclosure form to Lou deFonteny, Director of Student Services at [email protected]

Summer 2022 Positions: If an applicant is under the age of 18, working papers are required before employment can begin. Palisades requires a pre-employment drug test as a condition of employment.

  • 6-8 Temporary Summer Custodian Workers are needed to assist in the cleaning of all buildings over the 2022 summer break. Responsibilities include: cleaning of the bathrooms, classrooms, hallways and other rooms in all buildings, cleaning windows, emptying trash, and moving furniture and other school items throughout the buildings. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates must be able to work well in a team environment and also work efficiently independently. Preference given to candidates with prior custodial experience.  Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Positions to begin approximately June 13, 2022 through approximately August 19, 2022. The positions are 7.5 hours per day, day shift positions, Monday through Friday, with starting times varying from building to building. Flexibility on hours and days worked per week.   • Summer Technology Assistants (2)Assist the Palisades School District with summer technology projects for all buildings.  The position is for day shift and begins approximately June 9, 2022 through approximately August 26, 2022. Hourly rate: $12/hour. Applicants must be 16 years of age or older and should possess general computer knowledge and the ability to successfully connect the components of a computer together. Applicants should also be able to follow instructions and be a self starter with minimal supervision.  The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work on a ladder will be required.  The applicant should expect to work in dirty environments at times such as above ceiling tiles, under desks and tables, and when cleaning out computer equipment. All employees of the Palisades School District MUST complete the Act 126 Child Abuse Training Requirement within 30 days of their first day of work. It is the employee's responsibility to complete this training on time. See training link "Act 126" to the left to begin training.
