College Board Announces National Recognition Program Award Winners: The College Board announced the recipients in this year’s National Recognition Program. The College Board's four recognition programs—National African American Recognition Program, National Hispanic Recognition Program, National Indigenous Recognition Program and National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program—award academic honors to underrepresented students.

These students were selected because of their academic achievements in school and outstanding performance on the PSAT/NMSQT®, PSAT™ 10, and/or AP® Exams. They've accomplished these milestones during an immensely demanding period of their high school career.

Congratulations to the following Palisades High School Students:

Averie Winsor, Ben Flinchbaugh, Brandan Hofstetter, Eva Oschmann, Everett Cupak, Giada Smith, Holly Pason, Kaya Rutstein, Layna Transue, Owen Brandes, and Sean Finnerty.

All of the students listed above were selected in the National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program.

For the 5th year in a row, Palisades High School has been named in the top 40% of high schools in the nation (nearly 25,000 schools were ranked) and 100th (out of 750) in the state of Pennsylvania!  This is an exciting honor for Palisades High School and all of our schools - the foundation for high achievement is laid at the elementary and middle school levels!  We are so proud of our students' performance and proud of all of our staff for helping to make this outstanding award happen!  (And just as a bonus, Palisades ranked tops in Upper Bucks!  Way to go team!)

Highlights from the September 6th meeting included:
Carol Clemens
Special remarks regarding the passing of long time School Board of Director, Carol Clemens. Carol represented Region 3, Springfield, and was a former educator and advocate for children. She was also very fiscally responsible and an outspoken servant for her constituency and all Palisades residents during her 32 years of service as a school board director. Several members on our current board saluted her leadership and her patience in onboarding new board members. Her influence over many years of service will live on as Carol's legacy in Palisades!
Students, both BIGS and LITTLES, who participated in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program last year at Durham Nockamixon were congratulated for their involvement! Through this work with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization, and with the help of grant funding, 14 matches were made between high school and elementary students at DN. This program provides mentors to elementary school children through the involvement of trained high school students. We are so happy to have this type of engagement and support for our youngest of students, and truly appreciate the volunteerism of our high school students who have participated in the program. Our hope is to continue to expand to all of our elementary schools this year.
Also, congratulations to Tinicum Elementary School for receiving a $4,000 grant to expand resources to support readers in Tinicum from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. This grant was applied for by Tinicum Elementary teachers, Mrs. Corboy and Mrs. Boshkoski; we are thankful to them for taking the time to apply and we are so happy it paid off! Release DGLF.pdf
