District Advocacy

  DISTRICT ADVOCACY

Our district is committed to engaging in advocacy efforts with our state and federal legislators in order to benefit the students and residents of the Palisades School District. District advocacy takes several forms including:

-Meeting with legislators in Harrisburg through various advocacy days (PSBA/PASA, BCIU)
-Engaging in round table discussions and legislative dinners
-Partnering with state organizations focused on public education
-Communicating with legislators via email and phone calls
-Remaining informed on proposed legislation

When the district communicates with legislators, we focus on providing district-specific information (financial data, student achievement, local experiences) that highlights the impact of proposed legislation. While there are many bills that are introduced that impact public education, the district focuses on those that have a direct impact on the Palisades.
