Legislative Breakfast
School Administrators and Legislators Collaborate to Meet the Needs of Bucks County Students

On Thursday, October 10, 2024, school administrators from across Bucks County met with state and federal legislators at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit in Doylestown, PA.  The gathering emphasized the ongoing, productive collaboration between local schools and legislative representatives, all working together to better serve students and families throughout the county. Opportunities like this highlight the importance of regular dialogue between educational leaders and state and federal policymakers to address shared challenges and to seize opportunities for the continued success of education in the region.  (Dr. O'Connell, Superintendent pictured above at the event.)

Legislators and legislative personnel were in attendance from the offices of (in alphabetical order):

  • State Representative Tim Brennan
  • State Senator Jarrett Coleman
  • State Representative Tina Davis
  • State Senator Frank Farry
  • US Senator John Fetterman

  • State Representative Joe Hogan
  • State Representative Shelby Labs
  • State Representative Kristen Marcell

respiratory virus Message from your Palisades School Nurses:
With back-to-school and the change of seasons, we are seeing an increase in cold-like and allergy symptoms. Our response to the Flu, Covid-19, and other common respiratory illnesses is the same. Please remember to cover your coughs and sneezes,  practice good hand hygiene, and stay home from school if you are ill.  When your child has had a temperature of 100 degrees or greater and/or has been vomiting during the night, he/she should stay home until fever-free without the use of fever-reducing medications (Tylenol and Motrin) for 24 hours. We understand that children may want to come to school, but everyone else is exposed to their illness, and your child’s resistance to additional germs is decreased.
Trooper Rogers
Durham Nockamixon Elementary 1st Graders Welcome Trooper Rogers!

Seeking a Sports Booster Officer
!

Are you passionate about supporting our local athletes and making a difference in our community? We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our experienced team of Sports Booster Officers. As a new member, you'll have the opportunity to learn the ropes from our current officers and contribute to a supportive environment for our team. We're seeking parents with children in ninth grade and up who are available in the evenings and weekends. By joining our team, you'll help us divide the workload and ensure that our snack stand runs smoothly throughout the year, from football season in the fall to track in the spring. 100% of the funds we raise go directly back to our student athletes to support their academic and athletic endeavors. Volunteering with the Sports Boosters is also a great way to spend time with the students in our school and get to know them better. If you're interested in joining our team and making a positive impact, please get in touch with us through our email at [email protected].

Palisades Community Foundation is selling blank notecards with art by our own students from last spring’s Covered Bridge Event celebrating the 150th anniversary of the Knecht’s Bridge in Springfield.  These one of a kind images were done by students and the original pieces were on display in the high school’s art gallery as part of the celebration.  The pack of 15 blank cards are being sold as a fundraiser for Palisades Community Foundation for $15/pack.  Proceeds from the cards will go back to support projects across the community.
