Attention Parents/Guardians: This letter was sent out to all families yesterday to review our safety and security procedures - Fall Safety and Security Letter 2024.pdf
School Board Updates:
At the most recent meeting of the Board, a contract was approved with Whitsons Nutrition, LLC to provide management and oversight of our food service program for one year prompted by the retirement of Food Services, Warehouse and Transportation Director, Gerry Giarratana at the end of this month.
In addition, several job descriptions were approved as rewritten to adjust responsibilities for several current employees as a result of Gerry's retirement (best wishes to Gerry). Lorie Olexson (Business Administrator) will be tasked with acting as the district liaison for both Food Services (with Whitsons) and for Transportation (with Krapf).
Also, the Board approved the acceptance of the following Federal Grants for the current school year:
Title I - $247,711
Title II - $35,772
Title IV - $20,020
Finally, an agreement was approved for Palisades to work with the PA Solar Center to explore the possibility of installing a solar solution in the district. This project was originally brought to the Board by our Chief Science Officers (PHS students led by advisor, Mr. Dylan Fedell) as a consideration for the district.
A more detailed agenda and the minutes of all Board meetings are posted on our website on the School Board section, under Board Docs - Board Docs

PowerSchool Student Information System:
Parents and guardians, you will be extremely happy to know that we have REDUCED the number of forms that are required to be completed for each of our students this year! We are asking ALL of our families to complete this information for your child(ren) by logging onto your PowerSchool account and accessing the General Forms for your student(s).
Please note that most of the information is pre-filled, however after confirming or updating the information, each of the 3 forms MUST BE SUBMITTED. The Permissions/Agreements/Questions form asks for an updated date of submission, so please be certain to update that as well before hitting SUBMIT.

Seeking a Sports Booster Officer!
Are you passionate about supporting our local athletes and making a difference in our community? We're looking for a dedicated individual to join our experienced team of Sports Booster Officers. As a new member, you'll have the opportunity to learn the ropes from our current officers and contribute to a supportive environment for our team. We're seeking parents with children in ninth grade and up who are available in the evenings and weekends. By joining our team, you'll help us divide the workload and ensure that our snack stand runs smoothly throughout the year, from football season in the fall to track in the spring. 100% of the funds we raise go directly back to our student athletes to support their academic and athletic endeavors. Volunteering with the Sports Boosters is also a great way to spend time with the students in our school and get to know them better. If you're interested in joining our team and making a positive impact, please get in touch with us through our email at [email protected].

These one of a kind images were done by students and the original pieces were on display in the high school’s art gallery as part of the celebration. The pack of 15 blank cards are being sold as a fundraiser for Palisades Community Foundation for $15/pack. Proceeds from the cards will go back to support projects across the community.
