Patch 011119

COMPREHENSIVE PLAN SURVEYS:
Every three years, school districts in Pennsylvania are required to develop and submit a new Comprehensive Plan to the Department of Education.  As we begin the process for the 2020-2023 school years, we would like your input in developing our new plan by way of a parent/guardian survey. Surveys have been developed and are being disseminated for Palisades' employees, students and community members in order to begin the development of our new Comprehensive Plan.

The Comprehensive Plan drives the work that we do at Palisades every day. Over the past two and a half years, our district has focused our efforts in curriculum development, professional development, facilities management and budgeting to meet the goals of the current Comprehensive Plan (2016-19). The focus areas include:

·         Academic Excellence

·         Technology Integration

·         Community Engagement

·         Enriching Environment:  Wellness, Leadership and Mental Health

As we begin to develop our goals for the upcoming plan, we are once again asking for your input.  Please complete this parent/guardian survey by January 23rd using the link below. The data from the completed surveys will be compiled and analyzed by our Comprehensive Plan Steering Team (which includes representatives from many sectors of our community, including community leaders, parents, teachers, staff, administrators and school board members).  Throughout the Spring of 2019, many volunteers will be helping to develop action plans for the new Comprehensive Plan based on the information we receive from all of the completed surveys. As a parent/guardian of a student in our district, your input is essential. Thank you for taking the time to complete this anonymous survey. Parent/Guardian Survey

JANUARY 18TH IS A REGULAR SCHOOL DAY:

You may have noticed that January 18th on the district calendar is shaded.  This typically means that the day is off for students. However, this is a mistake on the calendar. January 18th is a regular day of school for all students. The next scheduled student holiday is Monday, January 21st.  Sorry for the error and any confusion this may have caused.

SAFE2SAY SOMETHING:

Information was sent out to all families this week regarding the state's new initiative to help keep students and staff safe, called SAFE2SAY SOMETHING.  Please see the letter from our Superintendents, a flyer about the new program, and here is a recent article - ARTICLE LINK - all explaining the implementation.
