Tinicum Elementary Distinguished School

TINICUM ELEMENTARY IS RECOGNIZED AS A DISTINGUISHED SCHOOL!
Congratulations to Tinicum Elementary School's teachers, staff, students and families for being named a Distinguished School by the PA Department of Education.  Tinicum Elementary School was recognized for being in the top 5% of Title 1 schools in the state for academic achievements  in math and language arts based on the growth assessment data for the students tested.  This is a tremendous honor for our school community - Tinicum is one of 158 schools recognized across the state!  GRRRREAT JOB TIGERS!

ATHLETIC NEWS FROM PALISADES HIGH SCHOOL:

Last evening, the Girls Soccer team competed in the Colonial League championship. It was a great game and our girls played their hearts out! Unfortunately, we lost 1-0. However, please join me in congratulating our girls for finishing 2nd in the league. The team and community can now look forward to the District XI playoffs.

Speaking of District XI playoffs and championships, the boys soccer team along with the girls soccer team have qualified and will compete next week. The cross country teams will run in the championship meet on Wednesday, October 24th. Please check the District XI website for more information regarding the playoff brackets.  http://www.districtxi.com/home

On Tuesday, October 16, our debate teams competed at Catasauqua High School. Two teams were undefeated (each scoring 2 wins and 0 losses). Ally Kaiser, Tim Goggin, Anna Leinenbach, and Will Schulz represented one of the winning teams while Sarah Goggin, George Gavin, and Greg Derr-Haverlach represented the other. While her team suffered two narrow losses, Maddie Freeman celebrated perfect scores the entire day. Great job Debate Team!
