What information can be shared with parents/guardians about a disciplinary incident?

1. The parents/guardians of the child being disciplined for an infraction are always notified of the infraction and consequences

2. Administrators share general information with parents when an event occurs that disrupts the educational program for all students (for example, notification that the school is in lockdown as described in #4)

3. Administrators do not share the following types of information with community members that call or email with inquiries:

a. The names or other personally identifiable information about students who were involved in an incident.

b. The disciplinary consequences issued or educational placement decisions made for any child other than their own.

c.  Any referrals for mental health or drug/alcohol counseling made for any child other than their own.
