Some highlights of this budget include:

*  There will be a 1% tax increase; based on the average assessed value of a property in Palisades, the average tax increase will be $25.78 with gaming relief (Act 1) applied

*  Fund balance (district savings) will be used to balance the budget (along with the 1% increase)

*  Reductions from the Proposed Final Budget in the amount of nearly $1.3 million

*  Palisades Final Budget is approximately $57.3 million; programs and services for students and families remain in place

*  This is the 12th year for which a budget increase will be at 1% or below; this is out of the 15 most recent budgets passed

Thanks to our Business Administration and our district administrators for their work on this budget, and kudos to our School Board for continuing to be conscientious stewards of taxpayer dollars.

HERE ARE A FEW ZANY THINGS YOU WILL ENJOY...

PALMS MORNING SHOW BLOOPERS:

MR. DAVIS (SPRINGFIELD PRINCIPAL) ROLLING THROUGH THE HALLWAYS LIKE A HAMSTER...
As promised, Principal Scott Davis rolled around the hallways at Springfield Elementary School in a big ball this week! Each year, he challenges the students at Springfield Elementary to read at least 15 minutes for 100 steps (100 times) during the school year. All students record their reading "steps" throughout the year and by the end of the year, if all students have met the goal, he does what he promised. Check out this year's zany celebration!

Trooper Rogers

TROOPER ROGERS WRAPS UP HIS YEAR WITH 1ST GRADE:  Trooper Mike Rogers of the Dublin Barracks met with our 1st grade students at Durham Nockamixon Elementary nine times this year as part of the "Behind the Badge" Program.  The students were so excited to see him and have a pizza party!  They also could not wait to share their posters that they made as a thank you for him - MANY of them had drawing of a police officer on them which were totally adorable!  Thanks Mike for all that you do to keep our students and our community safe!
